Not a good beginning... :-(

Hi all,

First of all, Happy New Year! Not my best year beginning as I've said:

Was parked today beside a post and when I went backward I just hit this small post at 0.0000001 km/h...
Result bumper melted and fixings broken, so I imagine I have to change the bumper... s:cry: :cry: s:cry:
Sad and angry with myself today...

I have to ask though: How did you manage to hit a post with your front bumper whilst reversing? And how come the bumper melted?

I'm thinking Spyni meant more 'distorted' or 'bent' than melted, per se.

As for hitting it - imagine a short post (9-12" high) and reverse out as you would a parking space - you could easily accidentally turn the wheel to swing out backward just a little too early, and catch the post inside the front wheel well..

I'm just speculating, though - but it looks probable, judging by where the scrapes are.

On the bright side - at least the bumper is a simple swap-over job, no panel beating or filling required, so it could have been worse s:)

Let see what the insurance company says, perhaps it's time to upgrade bumper, or perhaps can put a used one...
BTW, do you know how much is a new stock bumper in Mr. T?

As for the New bumper, That's a very reasonable price I must say!
