Rio

Hi all. Im new to this forum.

I have a 2000 MR-S Jap import. I have been trying to get hold of a hardtop for it now for about 6 months. I have been told by several people that its not possible.

I have seen one for a 2002 MR2 thats up for sale. Does anyone know if it would be compatible with mine, its quite a distance away so wont find out if it fits till ive already bought it?

Any other MR2 owners out there from the south west? Im after a body kit, any recommendations?

Cheers

Rowland

Hi Rio and welcome to ROC!

There seems to be a fair few folk after hardtops for their, mk3 and naturally they're snapped up very quickly and often between £600 - £800+
I'm not sure whether you're aware, but you will also need a 'fitting kit' to fit a hardtop to your MR2.
These are available from Toyota and comprises of a pretty lengthy list of part numbers and a fee of around £300+ if I recall.

Me I'm waiting for a black hardtop to come up and have been since September *sigh*

PS. By using the 'Search' facility at the top, you should be able to pull off a wealth of information, as it's something that crops up quite regularly.

Firstly welcome,

secondly any hardtop from any model year will fit any car 1999 to 2006 J-spec, UK, EU whiichever.

secondly you will need a fitting kit (check if thats included)

3rd have a good search as everything you could ever want to know about hardtops has been covered in teh past.

If you unsure/stuck with teh search you shoudl have or will shortly receive a pm from Liz with a search tutorial.

I`ve just had the hard top off of the car today cos I`m sick of having it on when we seem to be having lovely blue skies about lately, been thinking about selling it but wasn`t sure whether it would be wiser to sell it with the car. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated   s:) :) s:)

I think from what I've seen around here and ebay, you'll get more by selling it seperately. (I'd probably sell the fitting kit seperately to the top as well, to get even more!)

Yes I believe it would be more beneficial financially to sell seperately  s:wink:  s:wink:

Ooooh, black hardtop, possibly for sale. Do my eyes deceive me?!
I'd be interested in taking that off your hands perhaps?

PM me a price if you're serious about selling.

It only made £300 difference to the p/x price when I changed to the Porsche, best selling it seperately, make a bit more for yourself.
