Hello,
while I'm on the move, and I need to decrease speed I try to change and put 1st gear, but it doesn't let me. So I put 2nd and i'm doing a very slow accelaration.

This is never happening while I'm stopped and putting the 1st.
This only happens if i'm already on the move and try to put 1st.

I have the facelift 2003 edition with 6 speed.
Any ideas?

Personally I would of thought you would of been in danger of thrashing the nuts off of the engine, even from 30mph, try using the middle pedal as well!!   s:wink:  s:wink:

Try a bit of double declutch, (which works very well on any downshift) to get the gearbox right for the new gear. Used to do in the old days before synchromesh!

Works especially well if you add a "blip" of throttle (or heal & toe if you are braking) to get the revs synchronised.

I also have post '03 with 6 speed box and have found recently that it's best to stop before engaging 1st.  Problem seems to ease after a few miles so could it be that because it's so cold right now, the gearbox oil is very thick and creates the problem?  Does anyone know what viscosity oil Mr T uses and has anyone tried different oil?

It is doing it over 5km/hour I think.
So I guess that this is not a problem of my specific car, but a general issue for MR2's .

Thanks for the support guyz!
