New Cat woes

I've just had a new cat fitted under warranty due to corrosion but its dented the performance, my thinking is this is because of the new cat material needing to be effectively bedded in, but is that correct, i know jack about cats  s:? :? s:?  idea's?

I wouldn't think it would make much difference TBH as they are designed to flows the same until they break down. Could be wrong though!

check they replaced teh manifold gaskets

might be a leak

unless they noticed your precats were missing and kindly replaced them as well  :-) :-) :-)

This might be completely off the wall, but maybe they just disconnected your battery to do the install and your ECUs on a fresh learning curve?

Can't think of any mechanical reason why a replacement cat would make a difference, apart from Mark's option of a leaky joint.

cheers folks, i haven't done the ECU bit yet but there arn't any leaks, just seemed a bit strange to me  s:? :? s:?  The exhaust note has totally changed as well, less throaty  s:( s:(  

and i bloody well hope they haven't replaced the pre-cats  s:? :? s:?

Better check the precats then  s:lol: :lol: s:lol:  Old cat and new cat shouldn't make much difference in the sound either.
