When I get my TTE Turbo fitted am I right that the current pre-cat goes for a new one and removes any issues with the current one crumbling  s:?: :?: s:?:

Yes according to Steve/SP the manifold with precats is removed and replaced with a new single item

Thought so - thats good as it removes one major cause of concern seeing that im sinking more cash into the car and will want to keep it longer - now the new cause of concern is wrapping it around a lamp post! Doh!!   s8) 8) s8)

The old manafold with 2 precats goes with a new manafold and a seperate new high flow race pre-cat with goes onto the manfold. Not sure if it is metal but looks far better than the OE ones. Just a small thing the guys @ SP are currently running a exhaust system with a straight through pipe no cat which yesterday passed the gasses test @ a MOT test place this is one for the future.

The TTE 'precat' is indeed a very small metal race cat - no breakdown worries there.

Hi folks

First post, please forgive the moron questions  s:? :? s:?

Is it possible to source a metal "TTE precat" for an MR2 turbo (1992)? And er what does TTE stand for?

Also what is the easiest way to check the old ceramic pre cat?

TIA

TTE precat is for the Mk3 MR2 Roadster, it won't work with the Mk2 MR2. TTE is Toyota Team Europe:  m http://www.tte.de m

You don't have a precat in your Mk2. Actually this whole site is just for the Mk3 Roadster, so you might wanna join another forum that relates to your car.  s;) ;) s;)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.
