TTE Exhaust

A friend has just bought a black 55 plate with a twin TTE Exhaust fitted. WOW this really looks the part s8)

s8) I was so impressed i've just booked my 2 in at Toyota Colchester for next week to have one fitted.
I will let you know what I think when completed s:D

A lot of people after twins at the moment, so I've asked Mark Headlam over at RMB Teeside to see if there are any knocking about in a cupboard somewhere that he can do the club a good deal on. I'll keep you posted.

Yep - My twin exhaust was the best £400 I spent in quite some time - really finishes off the back of the car. Not loud enough IMO though - still catering for Joe public who wants a quiet car and not me who wants a screaming banshee every time I open up the throttle.

I'm opposed to induction kits on the basis that they do little for performance.

Hopefully gutting the precats and fitting the markiii will help.
After that maybe a decat?

I do agree (I'm running PPE with an Apexi filter)... this gets the noise to another level (the level you signal your will to pass on the motorway by just downshifting to 3rd gear s:lol: :lol: s:lol: ).

the induction kit works with the better flowing exhaust. of course, the cat is still preventing a really good air flow... s:? :? s:?

Besides I'd keep the cat and just put it on for the MOT if there were any problems - sorted!

The exhaust that SP have on there car if decated with just the TTE pre-cat and it has passed the emissions test.

Hi all,
Collected the car at lunch time today from Mr T Colchester with the lovely dual TTE exhaust fitted s:D

From cold it doesn't sound much different from the single stock pipe but once she's up to full operating temperature WOW what a difference s8)

As you can probably tell I'm well pleased s:)

s:) The appearance it makes to the look of the car is just superb and in my opinion finishes the back end with a bit of aggression & balance.
Will be out tonight for a blat so cant wait to finish work s:P

i know mines not a tte but noticed that too, doesnt sound like anything when cold but when its warm s:D

You might like to look closely at the fitting. IIRC a number of TTE's straight from MrT have one pipe lower than the other. Better to get them to sort it sooner rather than later if you have the same experience.

I just priced one of these at my local Mr T. They want over €800 (not including installation)!

I guess if you want one its another trip to the UK Steve! Or does that work out even more expensive?

BTW Silverstone Performance are checking out their TTET exhaust for N/A cars, so I guess there will be another option available soon.

Does anyone know if standard exhausts fit MR2 or there is special exhausts that need to be installed?

By standard I mean for example exhuast from a Peugeuot 106 or from similar cars.

I want to install two dual exhausts.

No other car's exhaust system will fit the Roadster. When you say two dual, do you mean so you have a quad-exit pipe setup?

I was thinking so yes.
But if you say that no other car's exhaust will fit, I may have to rethink!

So do Hayward & Scott... Well, they'll do as many tips as you fancy, in whatever size you prefer, its all very individual.

Peter Wright had a quad H&S fitted to his car, but I dont know if theres any pictures here.

Hey John!

Picked my new darlin up on friday and I've done 600 miles in it so far!
Drove it back from the dealers to my house about 20 mins, by which time they'd warmed up nicely! stuck her on the drive to admire the newly fitted TTE's and was alarmed to see white smoke gently puffing out from the twins s:shock: :shock: s:shock:
(ignition was off by the way!)

Thought the things were going to catch light as they had a an awful burning smell coming from them coupled with the smoke. Have you or anyone else experience such a sights and smells with newly fitted TTE's??

Some body put my mind at rest please

Perfectly normal with any newly fitted exhaust - its just the release agents burning off the inside of all the pipework - smells awful, but shouldnt last too long s:)

I'm sure all is well. Exhausts will smell for a while as the hot gases condition the inner bore and burn any inetrnal residue s:wink: :wink: s:wink:
