When I had my car in for repair, see this post, I decided to get a new front bumper since I had one sitting around anyway that just needed to be repainted. It cost me $200.00 to have the bumper stripped of its current not matching paint job, sanded down and painted. That included filling and removal of the two emblem holes.

I find the look very sleek and appealing, but the gap between the hood and the bumper is much more noticeable. I will have to do Joe's fix on that soon =)

Now that I have a new bumper, the Bra will be on it just about any time I drive. The last bumper was basicly destroyed because of bugs and rock chips (not to mention autocrossing).

I asked the body shop to save the front and rear bumper for me but they threw them out anyway =(. I need a spare front bumper now for when I autoX as my car seems to be a cone magnet   s:oops:  s:oops:  .

Just picked the car up from the dealer!

Some pics this A.M. at the train station.

Repaired damage. I belive they did a very good job. I cannot tell anything changed =D

Gotta agree with Kris about the bra...!

I reckon I must have one of the worst bumpers on this forum for stone chips after 3 years and 45k.. (hey, mabye we should have a little competition for the most chipped?!)...despite my best attempts to be careful...   s:oops:  s:oops:

I'd rather drive 3 years and end up having to have it resprayed tho, than drive around with it in a bra the whole time and look (IMHO) ridiculous!   s:wink:  s:wink:

Actually I think I've only ever seen one car here in the UK with a bra..

Oh, on topic though... when I get mine resprayed I might think about losing the nose badge - it looks great without!

My thinking on this is that that clear film is a much better idea... what is the point on buying a nice looking car, then making it look fugly.  May as well put it in a glass box and just lick it clean every weekend or something.

Much better idea is to put some sort of protection on that doesn't detract from the looks.

Sticky-back plastic anyone?

I agree with Phil - you can hardly see this stuff if its been done properly - something i wish i had invested in now.   s:roll:  s:roll:

stops stone chips etc But they dont look good and in my opion it a good idea just to wax the front well as it helps with stone chips   s:lol:  s:lol:

My front end is quite chipped up within seven months, especially the bonnet. I would not have the 2 wear a bra though  s:? :? s:?

It's not just the fact that the paint chips awfully - it's also the fact that pretty much every car now uses a white undercoat/primer.  The darker the colour the more this shows up the chips.  Silver or white are usually the best for hiding the damage.

Same here - good idea, but there are more elegant solutions...

A porsche drove past me the other day with one, and after I recovered from the shock (the first one i've seen 'live') then i chuckled for ages...

I know what the car bra is, I was confused as I thought it was an invisible one.
