I've had a search but coudlnt find anything on this, so I thought I woudl post something.

I have been looking at some aftermarket seats, as the leather on mine is all cracked.

I've seen these:

but I was just wondering if they were to wide, being 20inch. I was just wondering if anyone else has fitted seats this wide. Also, woudl have to figure out how to fit new subframes.... or could i use the ones on my seats already?

Plans are grey and black alcantara seats, with grey alcantara door cards?

I would advise against this kind of generic aftermarket seat. I don't doubt you will be sorely disappointed with the fit and finish of them in person. Safety might also be a concern. Bottom line from the seats I've sat in, Sparco and Momo cost as much as they do for reasons other than the brand name.

As for brackets and sliders, I doubt the stockers will work without some major modification. This is another area where a brand name like Sparco or Momo pays off, they will have custom mounts specifically designed for the MR2, albeit at a high price.

I got 2 Sparco Roadster2 seats and have fitted the driver's one for now:

Davy (VVT-i) has some nice a/m seats in his '2 aswell. Very comfy once you're in, although I managed to rip out a kidney last weekend on the side support  s:x :x s:x

Hopefully he'll pop along with details, because they're well suited to the car and fit nicely with clearance all round.

The other option I have is a re-trim of the seats. The first place I called quoted £600 for leather... which I thought I was a LITTLE high, but I am going to ring around.

I have a pair of Konig K5000's.. like has been said.. they are a fairly good fit ans suit the size of the car quite well. As for styling.. there are lots and lots of options to choose from.. different colour combinations, different materials and some differences in the way the stitching is..

The ones above are what I have, but follow the link below to see some other combinations... but there are more than shown here.

I've ordered from this site before. They're based in the US but will ship outside. This is nice because they've already combined the bracket/slider into one unit.

I believe Titan motorsports also carries brackets that are mr2 specific on their website. Not sure about sliders though, you may have to pair them with universal sliders. Ebay is a good resource too, the US version has Sparco/Momo bracket stores all over it.
