So sold the focus and ripped out my old alpine head unit out of it and thought i wud install it in the 2 for now before hopefully upgrading to a DVD headunit just a few quick questions...

Right before any says search and u will find I have an im just a bit confused so heres my question if im installing a single DIN unit if i use the fascia and wiring loom from where Matt (sorry think it was matt) used to run auto audio accessories will that be enough to fit the unit in or do i need extra parts from toyota such as:

86221 -52050 : Left hand spacer (from toyota)
86221 - 52060 : Right hand spacer (from toyota)

All the topics i have found have all different ways of doing it so any help or advice would be appreciated

Hi Spyder

funny you should ask this question as I have been looking into this for the last week or so

having been to 3 audio centres and much searching on here, from what I have been told you only need one or the other
a single din fascia with built in under storage anywhere from £18 to £25 and of course an iso lead

or you can order the side fillers from Mr Ts but you also need a top and bottom spacers to

I'm going for the first option fitted with the alpine ida x-305
will let you know how it goes   s:D :D s:D

You just need the facia plate like the one from autoaudioaccesories with the slot, an ISO adaptor and the surround (from what I have read here pre 2003 cars need the surround from the post 2003 car)

The one in your link looks to be the right one... I know the one you need also fits the Rav, so should be OK.

Firstly a big thank you to all that posted on the how to section for installing a new head unit   s:D :D s:D
followed instructions and all went in no worries,  much nicer saved 140 fitting cost that was quoted.

Will post some pics soon

the double din to single did exatly as said on post only panic for a while .... forgot to take off the surround from the old FP unit so looked like it was to small but sorted now..

Spyder would recommend passion auto, parts came very fast via post and quality is great not a cheap piece of plastic like I thought it might of been , looks like the car was made that way  so very happy   s:D :D s:D
