Just done a quick search on the depth of speakers for the 2, couldn't find anything exact on what depth is okay.

This is aimed at Buster mostly will I be okay with the conventional size Focal Poly's with a mounting depth of 68mm, or would you go for the slimmer version of mounting depth 58 mm?? Ideally I'd prefer to go for the fuller version as max power is 30 watts greater.

Thanks for any help guys

I'm sure my Focals are the conventional size, but then I have a set of Busters spacers to bring them forward... check out the GB and get yourself a set and you should be OK.

Hi Mark;

I happen to have a speaker in front of me !!

The depth of the original speaker protruding back thru the inner skin of the door panel is 25 mm, the existing speaker's depth is a total of 50 mm, but as you can gather the speaker has a 25mm spacer on it.

I'm not sure what the gap between the original speaker magnet and whatever is behind it in the door though (probably the window glass !))

I have just bought the Focal V2s (but not fitted) which have the 68mm depth, so I am hoping they will fit ??!!

Cheers

also a depth setting can be set on the spacers to see how well they fit in the pod

Mike, Buster;

Aparently, the max speaker depth is 53mm behind and 35mm infront, so there's potential for a total depth of 88 mm !!!

not being funny but i have had a look at SC for a year or so now and i think that all the ICE knolage that those guys have is very limited and they dont seam to try many things out!

so the max depth is any think you like as you will be able to trim the door card and get more depth there and the spacer can be made to house a bigger depth OH and you also could cut away the metal and make a 8" hole but thats just being silly

it all depends how made you want to go   s:lol: :lol: s:lol:
