just found a post on here that JAP GT300 wrote that says MR-S' should use premium fuel as they have a higher compression BUT, and have also read that premium fuels (optimax over here) leaves carbon deposits in your exhasut.

Should i switch to optimax?

Higher compression...?  s:shock:  s:shock:
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

There was some debate about this a week or two back, and I think the conclusion was that there isn't any change in compression between the different markets. The JDM spec may make better use of a higher octane fuel as it could be mapped for that, but I'm not the expert in this area.

I'd guess for no.

Guessing from the fact, that Toyota Japan quotes the same hp to J-spec MR-S than EU models. If it had more aggressive tuning for better fuel, it should show up. As should a higher compression.

I'm only guessing though...

As posted by GSB a little while ago.

US and J-Spec both get 10,0:1.  The Toyota websites are quoting different variables or is it just the way it is read.

It's just the way they write it.  Jap, US, Australian, Euro, UK... All models are 10 to 1 compression
