Hi.

I've just finished fitting 2 audax 10" subs and a small amp. I chosed to close the rear compartment completely. It's not too difficult to dismantle   s:shock:  s:shock:   should I get tired of not having any space or if I'd like to go for a long road trip.

The sound is great. And potensially very loud (I'm a bass-junkie).  s:twisted:  s:twisted:

Nice job.
I have 2 x 10" subs in pretty much same place. Isnt it brilliant!

Have you done anything like this before as looks spot on?

with the greatest respect to all concerned, it's going to be hard to screw up a piece of MDF with 2 10" holes in in it.

A great simplification possibly, but based upon teh visible evidence not exactly rocket science.

still top marks for going with the stealth approach, as long as no one hears it they wouldn't know it was there with teh seats right back.  :-) :-) :-)

As always, you're correct   s:) :) s:)   Not easy to screw up this install. And yes, I turn down the volume whenever I'm close to my living quarters (and around people in general). Anyway, I'm very pleased with the cost / result in this case. The total cost for the install was about $410 (or 2835 NOK).

Very nice DJ Lite. But won't your seat touch the woofer when you lean back? And I'm curious about the center speaker, how is it connected? Looks very nice though   s:) :) s:)  Is it mostly made of wood?

The centre 6x9 is used as a centre speaker in a dolby 5.1 setup but in reverse (sounds weird). I'm running it through my 4 Channel amp in mono as a rear speaker. I set it up this way for more mid cause the sub drained out the components. When i put the 2nd 6x9 in the mid was too over powering so i stuck with the 1.
Overall the sound is Perfect and clarity is second to none! Ive had ice setup's in the past and this one sh*ts on em all !!!

It's mainly MDF, but i had to fiber glass the 6x9 enclosure either wise i would have lost one of the arm rest pockets!!

I had to comprimise the passanger seat from going back all the way, but it doesn't really matter cause the only passengers i have are record boxes or girls under 5ft 5!!!!!!

Like I said: looks great. But if I did that, my car would be gone by the morning (eventhough it won't take long to trace it if I don't make it down with my baseball bat when the alarm calls me on my cell)   s:twisted:  s:twisted:

DJ Lite, could you post some more pictures of your car in a new thread? You have lots of mods and I'm curious about them all   s:) :) s:)  And maybe link it here?

Just a quick question..how can it be a true 5.1 as presumably you have just your components..sub and that centre speaker? Or am i missing something?

Thats because it's not true Dolby 5.1

Rather than have a centre channel speaker on my dash i have placed the speaker behind me, but as a centre channel speaker!? (for the rear)

On paper i doesn't sound to promising but once cranked up, if the 6x9 wasn't there, you would then be asking questions as to why i didn't put a speaker there.

Plus my setup doesn't allow me to create a Dolby 5.1 sound picture!!
(who watches DVD's in 5.1 in there 2 anyway???!)

I'm doing a Degree in Sound Design/Sound Engineering & Music Production so a quality Ice set-up was inevitable.

i fully agree.i have 2 6*9s behind me and my sub and it sure makes all the difference in sound.

Sorry I wasn't in any way criticising your system if that what it seemed, I'm sure it does sound way better with a 6*9 back there..I was merely enquiring about how you could class it definitively as a 5.1 system with the speakers you mentioned (from your background you probably know that 5.1 represents a specific type of Pro logic, it either is 5.1 or not).  s:wink:  s:wink:   It's looks to be a great set up anyways! Wish I had it in mine!

Dj Lite. That looks awesome

It looks like foam around the sub, I take it the sub is mounted to a box which is hidden by the foam?
