I seem to remember some people had problems with the outer trim piece from the pre-facelift cars not fitting properly with the facia adapters, the solution was to find the trim piece from a newr car and fit it... might be wrong, but I am getting old and senile, but worth mentioning incase this is part of the problem.

Pretty sure Davy is right, I had this issue with mine, you need to get the post facelift surround from Toyota and fit that to the single din conversion.
Do you have any pictures of your install OP?

You have bought the correct fascia adapter..FP-11-03

I'm guessing that you now have a gap all the way around it. As I said earlier, something tells me it's the trim piece you need to change as described here..  l viewtopic.php?t=6096&highlight=fascia l  (found after searching for FP-11-03 on  m http://spydersearch.org/ m  along with lots of other info)

If you have the same problem, the long and short of it is... you need the stereo trim surround from the 2003 onwards car as these are different from the pre-facelift cars and will fit the fascia and fill in the gaps making the conversion appear stock, I found the topic where UKtotty had this problem and the new surround trim fixed it.

PM  l memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=14150 l  as he might have one in his posession.

lol, swear filtr wouldn't let me post the usename.

Ive got a facelift HU, but the surround appears to be designed not to be removed.
Plus the new owner will want a surround I imagine. Sorry.

You will also need an ISO adapter (ISO - Toyota) to make it plug n play.. so no cutting/joining of wires, around a tenner from ebay.

I found the quickest way to get right facia, surround, adaptors and underslung pocket was to go Halfords and order from them using your Reg number - Once you have all items either fit yourself, use halfords ( they have half price fitting promotion still ongoing) or find a dedicated audio shop to do it!!

I use photobucket and copy/Paste the Image code straight into the text. Does not use up your allowance also normally.

I have found this, which looks like everything i woud need to instal my single din unit? Ie i dont need any more interior trims?

I think you still need the fascia

What I would refer to as the facia is included in the link above, which is the part with the pocket/tray, also included is the ariel adapter and the toyota ISO lead.

To make thins look stock and fit better. you would need what I would refer to as the surround trim, which Russ has posted in the photo above (top piece in the picture) however, the one in the picture is different from mine... facelift model, maybe the one pictured is from a pre-facelift?.. Russ?... which would explain why a facelift surround trim is needed to make it all fit properly and look stock.

The trim surround is the same as what goes around the ashtray too.

So i brought the kit from the ebay link i posted above and got it through the post today (3 days) for 14 buckaros...

Bit of messing about to fit but very easy as it came with a detailed fitting instructions for the specific car! this was a great help and i can only give a very positive feedback on the kit itself.

It came with - facia, wite harness/adaptor and arial adaptor (not required) with instruction booklet.

Fitting instructions In brief:
1 - Unclip the two silver plastic end peices from the down beams either side of the console.
2 - Remove 2x phillips screws from behind the plastic end clips each side and remove down beam covers by sliding down and away from console.
3 - Pull out all three heater control knobs and remove 2x silver phillips screws located behind.
4 - Pull off air circulation knob from stalk then pull out control panel facia taking care of clock wires etc.
5 - Undo 4x phillips screws holding original headunit in and pull it out and unplug from behind.
6 - Fit locating brackets (4x phillips screws) either side of hole using instructions (tab C's) only in the same places you removed stereo screws in step 5.leave screws loose for adjustment.
7 - Slide facia into bracket and push until it snaps into place. now tighten 4x screws on mounting brackets.
8 - Now reassemble the side beams, end covers and heater control facia and knobs.
9 - Finally fit single din unit into the new hole provided by the updated facia as per usual installation process, plug and play!....
10 - Remove outer trim from old head unit and clip onto new facia to complete the look.

Mine looks exactly the same as the one pictured above completed, my car is a W reg (2000).

 Happy Dayz......
