Hi, am currently running the basic '03 model roadster and need to be making some mods asap.  Bearing in mind that I'd like to keep the warranty, TTE seems the sensible route.

Interested in the lowering springs, dual pipes and 17" alloys - plus maybe extended rear bumper... (per EVO long termer).  Any1 able to offer advise / opinions?  How do you get in on current GB's?

Hi Mat,

The mods you list sound pretty reasonable, and undoubtedly will look the part. You should be aware though that several members (like me) run different non-Toyota modifications and have had no problems with warranty cover, so dont feel forced to go the TTE route if you'd prefer something else.

As for Group Buys, as long as the deadline has not yet passed, you simply add your name to the list to join in. If they've closed, then its always worthwhile sending a PM to the organiser as someone else may have dropped out, or you may be able to have your order tagged on. If not, dont worry about it as these things always come round again.

Although the springs GB has officialy closed, I am still in a position to take more orders as I am waiting on the dealer for the go-ahead.
PM if interested.

Bumper extensions look great with the twin pipes but (and its a big BUT) the quality of the TTE extensions is very poor. They just don't fit and you end up with gaps round the top edge where they join the main bumper material. I would post some pics on my website but having just moved to an new ISP I'm having trouble uploading.  s:oops:  s:oops:

PM me your email address and I'll send some piccies to you and you can make your own mind up........

Cheers

semantics I grant you, but the extensions are not a TTE item. They are an official Toyota Europe option. While certain TTE parts have now found there way into the options catalogues of most EU countries this doesn't mean they are the same thing.

Not meaning to sound tit-for-tat  s:D :D s:D  I think this is a tad fussy and 'forced'. See the way the line comes down from the wheel arch, gets to the bit of kit, and then wonders what to do with itself?  s:lol:  s:lol:  Sorta runs out of steam and decides to curve round the back, fade out a bit and become the horizontal crease. Love the way the exhaust is cut into it though...

Thanks for the advice and opinions, altho have to admit that went ahead &placed the order with MrT this morn before seeing the comments re: bumper extensions...   s:oops:  s:oops:

Saw the Evo pics though &thought it looked better with than without... time will tell I guess!

All in price for TTE springs, TTE Dual Pipes & standard bumper extensions (Incl. paint & fitting) was £933.  Thought that was pretty reasonable...?

Gonna sort out the ICE next - maybe 2mor... Panasonic CQC9800N!  - Kind of appearance related... has a quality LCD display!

Darth Paul, your bumper extensions look perfectly fitted, far better than mine  s:cry:  s:cry:   You have the exact same car as me, same colour, same spoiler, same exhaust so it shows me that they can be fitted well. Back to MrT I guess.

It's just taken me about ten minutes to work out what you two were on about. I've been looking and looking at the photo. The thing is I have had that same view for more than the past three years, so to me it looked normal.

It was like one of those steriogram images. All of a sudden I could see what you were on about......the lead on the roof of the portch on the house next door.

Matt,
Before you go with the 'bling bling', drop the car with the TTE springs. They are awesome. They don't make any real difference to the ride quality, yet the car is on rails! It just does not roll in corners. I got mine from Mr T for 138 notes, and had them fitted by a local reputable garage for 120. Cannot rate them enough. Enjoy your motoring...............
