I have come across manufacturers who are in USA who do EL (electro-luminescent) instrument faces but after emailing them about ten times I have to admit defeat. Most unprofessional lot.
I want to have blue lighting, so does anybody - anywhere - do a replacementn face set with different colour lighting (the standard ones are orange by virtue of a rear screen, not any good changing bulbs in present set)

There used to be a guy on Spyderchat who offered this service, but it required you sending him your instrument panel, which obviously isn't very practical for us  s:? :? s:?

A friend of mine does this as well as custom graphics, however he needs a set of roadster dials to do the first set from   s:? :? s:?

so if anyone wanted to possibly get a special price as a donor set have a chat with him   http://www.skewer.co.uk

Just spoke to him and he apparently doesnt need the dials just a scan, he said:-

"As it goes, I can sort them without need for them to send me a cluster, so long as they take out their dials, take the templates themselves and email through, they can be off and back on the road in less than an hour - all the details are in the Help Development part of my site"

Have seen his work on celicas and they are outstanding, he also did my full body graphics on my 190 celica

I am interested and will contact the chap.
I'll try something else first  however.
I'll scan the dials into my signcutting software and have a play. What I want to do is alter the spacing a bit between each of the numbers on the scale (20/40/60 etc) to take up the few mph overreading, which as you may know gets progressively worse the higher you go up scale. I think it reads about 107 when the true speed (according to my Origin B2 which uses GPS) is a ton.
I'll get the readings from the origin B2 where the speedometer pointer is at each of 30/40/50/60/70 and so on, and where it should be pointing to be spot on - then with a bit of work in the signwriting software move each of the positions on the scale a touch, to give me the true readings for a new dial set.
(My car is an import and therefore different scale to UK models)

Quite separately I have seen something in the Demon Tweeks catalogue (p206 in edition DR4)) which is a digital speedo readout. This is a rectangular unit costing £191 and comes with a magnetic sensor. It can be digitally programmed to suit tyre size and changed to km/hr or mph. Not lit blue, but I'll try to get a look at this before going further.

I wont be Heath as I have other things on at present, I can however vouch for the quality of his work

smr2ley - if you just want an accurate speedo reading then an apexi rsm would do the trick and lights up blue of course  s;-) ;-) s;-)
