Well got the car back.
New manifold, and main cat all on exteded warenty. See, knew it was good for something   s:D :D s:D  

Now to see if it starts loosing oil in the next few weeks and then back in for a re-fix!
Apparently it doesn't happen a lot (  s:roll: :roll: s:roll:  ) and the other one the guy had seen was on a roadster with 70,000 on the clock.

Think I might clean the MAF and reset the ECU while I have nice new air flow.

Sean, what was that stuff in the spray can again? (I know, I know, I should use the Search).

Glad you got it sorted Simon - the stuff you want is Carb cleaner, the tin I had was Wynns, from Halfords.
