I can't see the pictures and because this forum is for the 2 there may not be much knowledge on the Celica. Perry would be your man as his previously had a Celica which he highly modded.

Wouldn't you need to cut holes in your bodywork to do them?  if so, I'd guess you'd need some sort of retaining mechanism.

You need to do some serious bodywork for that. Honestly, if you're asking if you need the stock clips, I don't think you should do it...
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

i sent the pics to the someone that hopefully will post them, so u'll have a visual to what im talking about ...

well if i wannt do both, i would need to cut the quarter panels of the car,
im getting the car re-painted and a new stereo, so my whole inside of the car will be taken out, but just wanna know
if i do need the retainers ...
cause here in canada, we dont have the mr2, only available in the US and overseas ...

i dont know where i got these pics from, where on the net, so thats why i can't ask the owner of the celica,
but would n e body have an idea ... or something ..
i went to toyota and got a print out of the spyder ventilator section (vent and retainer) and the retainer doesn't look that big ..
but if n e body would know ... it would be much appriciated  s:) :) s:)
thank u

 s:lol:  s:lol:
exactly ....
we only had the mr-2 till 1996 ..

after that nothing ..
but there going to stop production of the mr2 spyder, and celica in 2005 year (here in canada and the us )

so keep them in good shape ... they'lll be collector items  s:D :D s:D

where the gen 7 guys have used roadster or nsx vents they have cut out the rear fender and moulded the vent in with fibreglass and filler.  The clips are not relevant and your body shop will know this.

If your thinking of doing it yourself, then I would re-think as you dont seem to realise the work your taking on, you will also need to seal off the rear lights as the electrics will be open to the direct flow of water through these new vents.  Additionally if the US gen 7 is the same as ours over here, the alarm system is directly behind where your intending to place the vent on your passenger side.

I would advise you to pass all this onto a bodyshop unless you have experience of this sort of work, and they will know what to do ref bonding these vents in place
