Back Nappy

Heya guys, had a quick search of the forums about this but the results seemed slighty inconclusive.

I've just fitted an H & S twin exhaust   s8) s8)   and while doing so took off the plastic nappy thing that sits under the catalytic converter.

Do I really need to put it back on?  Are there any detrimental effects to leaving it off as I kinda prefer the look without it.

I have no idea what it does in the first place   s:? :? s:?   so if it's important I don't want to bin it.

This is a mixed opinion subject - some leave it off, with no detrimental effects, others believe it aids cooling due to it's design.
On or off, I believe it makes no difference.

its just to protect the main cat from deep water and speed bumps. my 2 didnt even come with one so they cant be that important!

J Spec don't even come with 1 anyway so they can't be too neccessary.

Removed mine to 'aid' airflow, no idea if it does as haven't pocketlogged it.  I actually really like the way it looks from behind, very mechanical/race track refugee kind of look.
