Handling Problem

Hey guys,

On way home last night i was part way through a fairly quick but straight line drive and got to the local back roads, i went around a right hand corner and the car did the strangest thing.

I can only describe the feeling as if the tyre had rolled over the rim and was coming off. The car went to turn the corner - steering went heavy and refused to turn, the car bobbled and tugged under breaking.

The tyre wasn't flat (my initial thought) and no i hadn't run anything over. I drove home SLOWLY but on a VERY wide straight bit i built the speed up a bit and at about 65 the steering did the same thing.

The tyres are only like 3 weeks old and have been fine - this was one of the more civilised drives in the car as well.

Any ideas?

This happened to me a while back on my 17's - I put it down to over enthusiasm by the tyre fitters with the tyre soap, as there was streaking across the tye from the excess. It stayed like this for a couple of weeks until it had all gone or dried out.
Yours could be  a different problem though as the tyres have been on a few weeks.

If the tyres moved on the wheel, the balancing is surely off  s:? :? s:?  You should get it checked...

One local guy just had this issue...whenever he was going above certain speed, the tyres would move on the wheels. The tyre guy said these happen rarely, but they do happen. Mark the wheel and tyre and see if they move...
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.
