Hi folks, after the discussions over the DC proposal (which most clubs refused to entertain), the MR2-OC has formed a website to promote the events of all the MR2 clubs in one place.

This has been done with a view to perhaps joining forces to organise a few larger events, and promoting all of the regional events that various clubs run.

Please take a look here -  w www.mr2events.co.uk w  - and see what you think. A representative from each club has been made an Admin there (me from MR2-ROC) so that no one club has overall control, so it should be done fairly if it takes off.
Please post your comments here, and by all means over there, I'd like to know if you the membership feel this is a welcome addition to the community or not.

Thanks,

Sean

Looks like a good compromise allowing individual clubs to continue to also run their own sites  s:wink:  s:wink:

I probably won't attend any meets  s:roll:  s:roll:  , but I do think it's a good idea. We do the same over here and it has had only posivite feedback. It's easier to plan bigger events when several clubs are involved, sharing the workload and expenses. It also seems to make more people interested in the meets as they get bigger than the ones with only one club. At least over here basically only the most active members bother to show up in those.

And don't forget to organize some competitions between the clubs! That's the most fun  s8) 8) s8)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

looks good, would be nice if the site had been finished first but a good way of talking to others about events

does this mean the Mk1 & Mk2 owners will wave back at me now when i wave hello?????  s:roll:  s:roll:

So, another question to you guys is this: would you attend local meets organised by other MR2 clubs, ie with a large contingent of MK1 or MK2 owners?

s:lol:  s:lol:  I would be up for more  local meet. If the site is run well and is used just for event were all club could pick up an event that maybe going on
it should atleast be given a crack, But think it should be for events only for a start anyway. It would be good if in the profile of each member you hade to state which club you were a member of

This is all it will ever be, and purely what it was designed for.

I notice than MR2OC are using it as a link to their site.

TBH I don't mind that, even though it appears to go against the original thought, but ONLY if it is to the Home page.

Links to their shop and other sections are not what I believe this site is about.

Slacey, can you, or is it worth trying to change it? IMO at least we should show a link to us if that is the way its going.

I've not looked for a couple of days... I'll check it out and see what I can do, it was stipulated that no one club would have overall control, but the OC are hosting it, so that may be their reasoning  s:? :? s:?
