Hard Top Clips Not Fitting Tight

I fitted my hard top on for the winter a few weeks back now and noticed that I was getting what sounded like excessive wind noise from the left hand side when up to motorway speeds. Anyway I just presumed that the clips need tightening and as I wanted to take it off again to give the soft top a good clean I didnt worry. Several weeks later i now have a long motorway journey this weekend So I thought I better have a look at it. The problem is with the left clip which joins the body. Its not locking shut. Its quite hard to see how the clip works but it appears that the leading edge of the clam shell bit (the bit you hold) is supoosed to 'click' underneath the release buttton locking it into place. As far as i could see its not even close so isnt locking into place. I tried loosening the tension and the clip is obviously to lose and i've tried tightening it and it wont stay clipped. My only guess is that either the mounting point has moved (not sure how this would affect the clip though) or the clip was bent somehow during summer storage.
Has anyone else had any similar issues? In case you dont have a hard top the clips are the same design as the ones for the soft top.

I see what you are getting at, but it sounds like the most probable explanation is one that you mentioned - the striker having moved while the top was off. It's certainly worth checking it out IMO.
