Are they trying to say that Elise has the same engine with 189hp  s:roll:  s:roll:
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

That is pretty pants isn't it! The Elise 111R has the 2zz engine (VVTL-i = 189bhp), where as the '2 has 1zz fitted (VVT-i = 138 bhp); IIRC!

So it's not the same engine that Lotus tuning division has rung an extra 51 bhp out of (as the article suggests) - it is a completely (well more or less!) different engine...

The error has been pointed out in the 'comments' thread, but you would have thought the article author would have researched his facts a little.

It's generally accepted that as long as the pic / article etc. is credited to the original source (which they have) then everthing is cool.

the thing that annoys me a lot is that ppl believe Lotus "optimized" engine ECU from 2zz, which is not true for sure since Toyota doesnt open up their ECUs for their own Tuning companies - TRD and TTE... Now you have a lot of articles on how Lotus finally took the engine where is should have been and Toyota is interested in what they did... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
