Floor mats - aftermarket or original?

Need some floor mats and wondered the original ones are better quality/fit than the aftermarket alternatives. There's not a lot in it price wise so thought I'd ask before buying.

Cheers,
Gary

I'm miffed that only the drivers side has MR2 on it.

They're a bit naff, but I can't find any better alternatives either.

Out of interest, how are they supposed to clip in? Both my plastic clips were broken, so they don't hold the mats in anyway.

I'm desperately in need of some too, but can't decide, same as the OP.
And even at MR2DC I heard someone say that they got aftermarket mats and they were paper thin  s:( :( s:(

Hey guys, no idea if this offer is still going on, but it's where I bought some replacement mats.

My OEM mats were just starting to show signs of wear so I decided to get some of these non-branded ones to use every day, and use my original mats for special occasions (like Ding Day  s:) :) s:)  )

Even if the offer itself isn't still on, they may well be worth looking at.  Mine fit perfectly and whilst the carpet itself wasn't as plush as the OEM ones, they were built pretty well.  They have had some heavy wear over the last 2.5 years - they are in a daily driver and, as some of you know, I don't tend to favour delicate lady footwear (DM's are my favourite!).  They are just starting to get to a state where I might consider replacing them as a bit of the double-layered carpet area (just where my heel sits) is starting to come away at the edge, but really they'll probably last another year before they start to be really tatty.  For what worked out at about £15.00, that was quite a bargain.

Anyway, might be worth a look?

£15 is really cheap!  Some are priced at £53 on eBay...

I'd rather spend the ~£2,700 that these cost on my MR2...

Thanks for the link JK. Your idea of keeping some mats for best is a good one, might have to order a set of those too.

Cheers,
Gary

A quick update as the Toyota mats arrived this morning.

Look to be very good quality, pretty thick with what promises to be hard wearing material.

Nice grippy rubberised reverse so hopefully no slipping.

Good detail and quality stitching around the edges.

Two high quality clips to hold the drivers mat firmly in place.

And finally a little instruction sheet for the hard of thinking i.e. me   s:oops:  s:oops:

I was going to fit them and take  a few 'in situ' pics but despite this mornings lovely sunshine it peed down later. I'll hopefully take a few pics tomorrow, weather permitting.

In general they look to be a quality item and the ebay sellers communication was very good throughout the transaction, quick delivery too.

Cheers,
Gary

P.S.Just had an email to say that the aftermarket mats have been dispatched so I'll take a few snaps of those when they arrive.

I've got OEM's.  They were in the car when I got it 3 years ago, not sure how old they were then,  but they are wearing very well.  Today I shampooed them and jet washed them clean, came up looking very good.
