WATER SLUSHING AROUND IN THE SOFT TOP RECESSES

Hi
Today, with all the heavy rain, (and once before), when I braked I heard a gush of water behind my right ear.  When I reached behind my right shoulder, I dipped my hand right into the recess where the soft top folds down into and I found at least 6" of water being held in this 'pocket'.  I felt down to the bottom and scraped my finger across a small round 'grid'.  I then put the fan on full blast hoping that this would force some energy through the cabin - low and behold, the water drained away.  Can someone tell me is that what these holes/grids are meant for in the MR2.  There was some scum covering this hole as my fingers came out black.  Are they water draining holes or something to do with the cabin air - whichever, unblocking them helped.  Thanks for you reply,
Martin.   s:?: :?: s:?:

Type "block and drain" into the search, there are a number of posts that discuss this. The grid is indeed a drain for water (the outlet is behind the side vents), these threads will explain how to clear the problem.
