Well as you know i've had my new 2 for a few weeks now and she has just sat there with less than 50 miles on the clock (hiding from the winter elements), this morning was dry and clear so decided to take her out for a quick blast (under 4000rmp of course)

I'd truly forgetton how good these cars handled, they have really stiffened the front end up compared to the old 2000 and the with the lowered suspension, i was having a great time. Now i know why it was so hard to sell the old one!!

Just had to share   s:D :D s:D

So Andy, what about the Boxster? Surely that was a better car?  s:? :? s:?

IIRC Andy hated it compared to the '2. I'm sure he'll explain his reasons.

Surely it's a different car, depends from your priorities which is better  s;) ;) s;)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Is the 2 the best value for money, 17K plays 32+K?

I know what Andy means about the handling...the 350 is supposedly a good handling car, but its a great lummux compared to the MR2..i really really miss the handling of the 2   s:cry:  s:cry:

It's not that the 350 doesn't corner well..it corners probably as quick as the 2..but the feeling is nowhere near the same..because like in a go kart, because your so low to the ground you feel your going so much quicker in the 2.

Although absolutely destroying an S2000 on some local a roads made me feel somewhat better today..  s:wink:  s:wink:

Some valid points about my comments there guys  s:) :) s:) , the Boxster was a fanstatic car, don't get me wrong, i had the 986 S model with sports suspesnion and exhaust system, etc, it had so much torque and was so well built. The options put nearly another 10k on the price though and the smile per mile was very expensive.

I found myself driving country roads i used every day in the 2 at 60mph (when most family cars would need to doing 40-50mph because of the bends), but to get the same feed back and fun in the bum dyno i had to go a lot quicker.

It was getting dangerous to be honset (my speed not the car!), it felt so heavy though and did not have the go-kart feeling. Plus no one ever lets you out of juntions!!! I'd still have one if i had too, but for what i enjoy in a car, the 2 is better value.

The GTR on the other hand is a completely different story, it big and heavy and feels like its never going to get moving, let alone corner, but its surprising nimble when it needs to be!!, and the acceleration is unbelivable out of the box let alone after a few tweaks!, mines just baby with just under 500bhp. The fun is different, more about shere power and the wow factor as you drive around and people are just staring and walking into things as you cruise by flames and all   s:twisted:  s:twisted:

The comfort during crusing and all the nice electronics toys you get, the benefits of the front wheel drive kicking in, when the rears have lost traction, etc is great, btu again, not fun just nipping trhough town or out in the country, plus you can't get the roof off   s:wink:  s:wink:  (you can how ever, totally embrass Ferrari drivers, even when you have 4 people in the car   s:lol:  s:lol:

Please again, don't get me wrong, all the cars have there merits, but i think the 2 has the ones i enjoy the most, saying that, i'd have a mark 1 MX5 again with out hestiation, they were really good fun for getting the rear out on   s8) 8) s8)

I've got 2 friends to buy 2's in the last few months and they can't believe how much fun there having, so we can't all be wrong   s:) :) s:)
