Hi all,

Still researching the MR2 project, as you might have read I will be planning to do a 2ZZ swap at some point, initially I thought about swapping in a stock 2ZZ and then swap in a fully built 2ZZ at a later date. It might now make more sense to just have a single 2ZZ engine for the swap so I would only need to drop and replace the engine once. As this is the case and as I am planning to run a fully forged engine ready for boost further down the line the engine will be sleeved and running lower CR pistons (probably 9:1). Initially the engine won't have any boost running on it as this would be a mod slightly further down the road but was just wondering how much of a performance decrease it would be to run the lower CR pistons NA?

Have a look at this:

Of course the ignition timing would be sub optimal too so this may decrease power a bit further, but it probably won't do any harm?
Silver 2004 MR2 -  Unmodified but very shiny.

Thank you - will check it out, it won't be optimal but it will still work and will probably make more power than the stock 1ZZ it replaces - will allow a good break in period before boosting and also make me want to sort out turbos quicker as well lol  s:D :D s:D
