I finally got out for a decent drive today, the weekend has been typical bank holiday, but I just needed a run out.

I was the first one since I installed the Mattbrace and ally front brace.  Much better over the bumps and potholes and flatter in the bends, and it hasn't spoiled the ride in any way.

I'm converted.  Go on.  Laugh!

I have a sneaky suspicion carolyns would be better.

A carolyn version of a corky breast plate perhaps, if starting fron scratch.
Do wonder the consistency of matts brace. Mine needed fettling to fit. And aware others have as well.

That's more down to lozenge-ing (it is a word, honest) of the chassis.  We had to fettle Stu's little centre brace to get it to fit - it was the car, not the brace.

If I made them on a jig (which I would) they would not just 'fit' on every car.  The Mattbrace is more about lozenge than across the chassis stiffness.

When we cut out the diagonals near the silencer on the supercharger car, we put in a brace to stop the upper rear of the car doing the same thing, but in a vertical rather than horizontal plane.

Sorry Jase, your car was not quite straight...

If you star making braces i'll have one for a spare.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

ME too. I want to try one now and it appears there isn't a ready supplier of a mid section brace!

What would you all think of a version in better steel, tig welded and incorporating a front brace all in one bolt in unit?  Could not be cheap.  Not saying I'll do it...

Ex 2zz by Rogue. Se7en cams. BMC CDA. Competion clutches lightened flywheel, Megillian Racing Exhaust. TRD sportivo suspension and ARB\'s. TRD braces. TRD quick shift. TRD dash kit, Matts brace. Getting there but not sure when it will stop!

I already have a cusco style front brace but I'm not going to stand in the way of R&D!

To me it looks like a corkys style breast plate should add maximum central rigidity for minimum additional weight, but I can see how a unified front and mid section brace would be good too.

Tell me it at least left Mr T straight. I can buy things move over 12 years or 100+k miles.
Cannot buy Mr T had sloppy quality control.

That a side. You have clarly lit the blue fuse paper on things mid/front bracing.

Having peeked inside the skunk works, I just KNOW, yours would be better enginereed.

The 3.0 bracing is aluminium, quite light. Well worth having for sure.

Always assoicated Kaz (caz) with Karen.
Having said that, cannot think of anything better.

I've got a "Car Brace"  That just wouldn't work.

Going off on a tangent, as I sometimes do.

I 'm sure Carolyns other half will have some input into it as well. Which then takes us down the path of

As a generl enquiry - open question - curiosity
Of those that already have a matt brace.
Would you consider swapping out for a newer better enginereed option?

Highly unlikely (for me). Quite happy with the matt brace & fl front brace. Recently fitted the same on Patsy's pfl & she immediately noticed a big difference too.

Happy with that.

Same. Whatever solution can be designed,it can't be very noticeably better than Matt's and front strut.

If I didn't have the mid brace,yes  s:) :) s:)
