Hi all,

Just wondering what the best aftermarket (or indeed OEM) wheel and tyre size setup would be, I know that the facelift models have 16s on the back with 15s on the front, Ideally I would want to run the same size wheel and tyres all round but was just wondering what size I should go with.

I believe the stock wheels would be 15x6 or 15x6.5 - could I look to simply run a stock 15x6.5 all round, if so what size tyre would be best as I know you can sometimes go +10mm on the width on the same rim (although different profile).

Just wondered what wheels and tyre sizes everyone has opted for, guessing no-one is running 14s at all? Would something like running an aftermarket 15x7 be beneficial for a slightly larger contact patch?

Just thinking if I should look into running stock sized wheels and slightly wider tyres or run slightly wider wheels?

I am a great believer i  the stock wheels.
I had FL wheels on my turbo car 205 front 225 rear.
Currently have stock PFL wheels on my V6 with stock sizes 185 front and 205 rear.
Many people to run wider tyres on stock rims as i did on the turbo.
If you look at buying after market wheels make sure you get something light.
Eneki RPF1 Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 OZ Ultraleggera are wheels i have looked at in the past.
Dont go bigger than 16 all round although i am sure somebody will be along shortly to champion 17" rims.

Whilst on the subject i would reccomend Yokohama AD08R.
Used them summer and winter although i do live down south.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Toyota spent millions developing the car and the stock set up was their optimum outcome so in my opinion stick with it, particularly if your engine is stock, staggered wheels are available and I obtained Rota GT3 16 rear 15 front from Demon Tweeks no problem other supplier also can offer similar

Many run up to 17" but on standard engines larger heavier wheels will affect handling and performance so unless your planning going turbo or 2ZZ I'd say stock set up every time

Thanks for the input, I don't plan to run larger wheels, I would only run larger wheels to allow clearance for larger brakes etc but this won't be needed on the car, so will look to stick with 15s or the 15/16 staggered (although prefer a single size so might go with 15s all round). I will be looking at the Eneki RPF1, Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 and OZ Ultraleggeras (a mate had some Superleggeras and they were light) as well as any other light weight rims - reading the comments above it looks like I will probably run stock width wheels with slightly wider tyres.

I noticed a massive difference downsizing from 17s back to 15s with Toyo 195/50 and 205/50 rears.  Felt a lot less harsh
I do have a set of 16s being refurbed at the moment tho

Makes sense and toyos have proper soft sidewalls.
