Hi all,

The car I am picking up as far as I know doesn't have hardtop brackets, I will be looking to swap over to a hardtop only in the future, my question is - is there a solid hard top mounting kit available eg brackets that directly attach the hardtop to the car. I know with the 'car with the engine in the wrong place' has a fairly cheap aftermarket option for brackets but not seen any out there for the MR2, the current soft top on the car is in an ok condition, I can see that some of the seams are starting to go though so I am thinking of getting a hard top sorted sooner rather than later.

Thanks in advance!

Rogue do a set of brackets for around £50 I've fitted these but it does require the complete removal of soft top. The seatbelt brackets are part of the soft top frame so you will have to do some angle grinding to get it all to work together

Unless they've dropped their prices, the hardtop kit is a bit more than 50quid

I will drop Rogue an email in a bit, the Jass ones are about the same price - can anyone confirm if they are all I need or do I also need the OEM mounting brackets as well as the solid mounts?

Thanks for confirming, I know with the 'car with the engine in the wrong place' the brackets are meant to work in conjunction with the OEM mounts, just more of a solidly fitted hardtop and harder for it to be stolen etc.

Will get me a set of Rogue mounts, its a tad cheaper than OEM brackets!
