Somewhat excited, I'd agree.

Hi Stannyman,

Welcome!  How's about a 'hello' in the new members' section, and a couple of pics of your new passion??

Soz yeah got lost somewhere.
Hello yeah just bought the 2 two weeks ago. Great car nice feeling driving it. Doctor owned one owner before. 95000 miles had new subframe and new calliper also. I got new disc and pads last week and it had an oil change when I bought it. Had lots of bills and receipts but missing some stamps so might have sprak plugs and air filter would you you guys think. The roof is a bit of a bugger especially on passenger side even with the winders down. Just a bit short needs all my strength to lock it back in. Also one ear out on the roof so some advice please would be good. I live on the Leeds Bradford border. Thanks for a excellent site cheers stannyman

The ears are usually down to a badly fitted strap through the soft top. Mine wasn't fitted right, the poppers had been crushed. I'm working on replacing the poppers and velcro this weekend. There's a thread on here somewhere showing where the strap should go. I found with the strap attached but out of place made the roof hard to close

Yes I can take some pictures no probs. Just had new spark plugs and air filter and I don't know if it's me it's send to run better. Closest thing I have had to it was a dihatsu Copen which was fun but have to say it's great on a day like this.

Call the midlife!

Welcome. If the roof is that hard to close try backing the tensioner barrel off a bit on the open/close handle. I had the opposite issue, mine popped unlocked a couple of times under body flex when cornering.

Welcome in  s:) :) s:)  has the exhaust manifold has the precats removed yet?

Make sure the windows are down, plus visors before attempting to close the roof - If it's a strap problem then make sure the strap is in the correct channel - Try the search box on this forum for advice - I found that the span strap stretches over time and the poppers are not fit for purpose so it's a case of buying a new strap or stitching the existing strap to accommodate the desired effect- OH and Welcome to the club!!
