After buying this 2ZZ conversion with stage 2 cams I am aware that fault codes will be thrown up and EML will light up.

Just want to check none of these are of concern considering the mod.

P0300 multiple cylinder
P0301 Powertrain cylinder 1 Misfire
P0302 Powertrain cylinder 2 Misfire
P0303 Powertrain cylinder 3 misfire
P0304 Powertrain cylinder 4 misfire
P0135 Powertrain O2 sensor Heater Bank1 sensor1.
P0141 Powertrain O2 sensor Heater bank1 sensor2.

Got impression these are to be expected with the stage 2 cams set up, but looking for 're assurance.

Where are the cams from? Se7en or Crower? Might be worth finding this out then you can contact them directly to find out...

The latter two codes I'm fairly sure will be resolved with new O2 sensors.. somebody probably just looked at them funny..

I would look at the 1st ones before I touched the O2 sensors.

I recently snapped a cable on the EVAP system that threw up a code. Latterly it was also throwing P0135 & P0141 (I'd only just installed a new primary sensor & I have the resistor fix on the secondary, so I figured they were likely thrown up wrongly) along with the EVAP code (forget the number).

Fixed the cable & once the EVAP system cleared itself, all three codes disappeared.

Mine is 2zz conversion too, but with stock cams.

Are you considering the Apexi pfc to map out the rough idle?

SJ Autosports did the conversion but cannot see what cams they are

I think from the description of how those misfirings are detected, it really is misfiring and I'd think it very unlikely that's expected with those cams/setup.

Do you notice any misfiring at any time?
If you keep it below say 6k rpm, do the codes stay away?

I would think the cams are from se7ven as sam has a tie up with them.

I get the same misfire codes now and then. I can keep them away by keeping the revs up and not letting the car idle!

I don't get the last 2 codes so I presume they will be O2 sensor codes. Did the previous owner put the O2 sensors in the right place when they put the exhaust system in? Should be one either side of the cat?

I also get a running lean code now and then if  I get stuck in traffic.

Not sure I agree with this, mine only throws those codes when at idle. I only get them when I'm stuck in traffic or leave the car running with no revs. If I keep the revs over 1000 I don't get the misfire codes.

My comment was made without any specific knowledge  :-) :-) :-)
If the codes are caused by lean misfire at idle, I'd agree it's nothing to worry about.
I'd find it irritating to have the MIL coming on though.

It is very very irritating! I will go standalone this year. For the most part I can keep the codes at bay but I do keep the code reader in the glove box so I can check them and then get rid of them!

I'm in discussion with motorsport electronics at the moment, they are considering building a plug and play ME221 standalone for the 2zz mr2......... Will keep you posted but a look on their site and Facebook page with a comment about the need for one might speed things up!

Sounds like it's all ok, assuming you can also avoid the codes by keeping the revs over 1000 rpm

Misfire ones don't worry about. Check the O2 sensors are in the right place and are working

misfire codes normal on cams with standard ecu o2 be o2 sensors or they blown the fuse  see if you got 12v on heater circuit on lambdas

Could you explain that to me a little slower please, in idiot speak, so I can understand it?   s:oops:  s:oops:

put a voltmeter on the heater circuit the 2black wires  there should be 12v on the lambda sensor if not then fuse has blown or they not wired it up right
