How good is the MWR PFC map?

Hi all,

I will be installing my PFC soon - still need to order and fit a wideband - I have a MWR map that usually comes on their PFCs which I have been told is much better than the stock PFC basemap that comes on the PFC as standard.

If I run the MWR basemap would it be safe to run this before I get the wideband fitted or should I wait - I can check the knock levels on the commander and log values on the FC Hako etc.

Anything is better than PFC base map it is only meant to enable you to get your car to a Dyno.
I would think the same could be said of the MWR map safe but not extracting the maximum performance.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Might try and get it added in tonight although I need to try and find a spare laptop! I know it won't be 100% perfect as it would be mapped for an engine that isn't mine - will just be a better starting point for auto tuning vs the basemap, my guess is that its also meant for US fuel which isn't quite as high octane as ours but will keep an eye on the knock levels etc.

If anything its probably a good thing as UK fuel is more resistant to Knock especially if you run Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate

US fuel isn't always as bad as you think they use a different standard there 91 is better than 91 ron would be.
Don't think they can beat Vpower 99.

MWR map ran better than Toyota's ECU on my 2ZZ. No trouble getting to the dyno.   s:D :D s:D
