Worthwhile accessory - mini jump pack

Hi all,

My MR2 had a flat battery due to sitting around for a bit plus constant use without the engine on when doing some mapping/logging flashes.

I bought myself the below product, there are a fair few on ebay and I thought, what the hell its fairly cheap and I can still use it as a power bank, its a portable battery with USB a torch plus jump leads - there are chunkier connectors which must go directly to the battery for a full 12v.

My MR2 would just click when trying to turn over (eg no ever turning over), plugged this to the battery, the car fired up on the 2nd swing of the key - its light weight so its easily something you could keep in the glove box for an emergency jump or indeed charge a phone up in an emergency. I am actually quite impressed with the thing so far, I think you can get them cheaper but I needed mine quicker so bought one in the UK rather than directly from China etc.

I thought I would flag this up as although I have break down cover (with relay) something like a simple flat battery at work on at a mates can really ruin an evening. Might also be great for those with track cars who have a smaller race battery ready for the colder mornings if the car isn't used daily.
