Hi guys and gals, another newbie here.  Havent got my MR2 just yet but ordered it today from drivethedeal.  Choosing the colour is the hardest decision ive ever had to make (well maybe   s:wink:  s:wink:  ).

The best thing about ownership apart from the prospect of having such a cool car is the forum.  Ive currently got a ford racing puma - another great underrrated drivers car - and the puma forum is almost identical to this!   s8) 8) s8)

Anyway - the model ive gone for is the Red apecial edition so I was interested to read the varying comments on it.  I still have time to change my colour choice until tomorrow morning so if loads of you say its gross in real life i may change my mind!

Anyway, I will probably get along to some meets in due course so I look forward to chatting and meeting some of you in the near future!

Hi and welcome along  s:) :) s:)

Varying opinions about the RED edition, personally I don't like it, there is one for sale on ebay at present and I was looking at the pictures thinking that I don't think that I could live with that roof, horses for courses though!  Whatever colour you choose I am sure that you will find ownership alot of fun.....and draining on your pocket with all the GB's on here.

Enjoy!

Agreed, I love sable but really don't like the red roof, especially in the flesh.

I'm wit Liz on this one. Looks superb with the top down , especially.
Okay, I'm biased. You'll love whateer colour you decide on, because its a 2! I saw loads of Japanese xotica yesterday at Boxhill, but you know what ? Looking at our members' cars , they are just a bit more special.

Welcome to Spyderland.

Be sure to give black (w/any interior) a good look. Downside is the washing-waxing effort. Upside is the way it integrates all of the other black and gray components of the car for a sleek appearance. White w/black top is also a pure classic.

Welcome, you've made a excellent choice of car, colour is the individual choice. I prefer red, but sable would be my second choice.

I'm envious of your location having lived in Poole for 3 years in the 80's. When the summer arrives you'll really enjoy posing around  s8) 8) s8)

Birmingham just is'nt the same  s:cry:  s:cry:

Welcome Mistert!

Got mine last year, and sable is definitely the best colour (wait for it   s:flame: :flame: s:flame:  )
The dealer really wanted me to have a 'Red' but I thought the red colour of the roof and leather looked a bit anemic and washed out. I went for the sable with the black interior, and only had to wait a little over two weeks.

Great time to buy, spring will be here before you know it!   s8) 8) s8)

Well I have been looking at the ebay listing and have to say I think its the best combo I have seen. But then I drive a Cape Green so maybe I am not qualified to comment. Wonder wether I could respray and retrim? But then much like ginger people maybe I should be proud of the colour and the difference   s:? :? s:?

welcome to the club matey, i'm with many others on this, Silver 'n' red is the way to go, but then the  red edition is definatly rare on the roads, i've only ever seen 2 in the flesh and one of those was in the showroom, good choice in my books

Hellooooooooo. I love Sable, but the roof on the red is not my favourite.

If Hd a choice of another, I would probably go for Sable (or Black. ALL cars look good in black.........)

Welcome!!!

When i was buying mine i wasn't thinking about red. My choice was betwen Silver and Black.
But when i saw RED MR2 - there was no thinking at all.
The lines and shape are more accented and nicer on red.

Well thanks for all the advice and welcomes, looks like I'm gona feel right at home on here - decided to go with my first instinct and get the Red special edition - I can always ditch the roof if it annoys me after a few years   s:wink:  s:wink:  .

As long as its not raining the roofs gona be down anyway   s8) 8) s8)
