Occassionaly when I'm working on the car i hear a very faint beeping, can't determine the exact source location if the beep, maybe from the front. Today, I heard it when i had the engine hood and passenger door open for a little while.  Can anyone tell me what it is - is it something to do with alarm/immobiliser?

Hi Derek, I have also heard this faint beeping noise too from Foxy! Never heard it from my older previous 2 in the 9 yrs I had her. Funny eh? Wonder if Toyota changed something on the latter 2's? Hopefully someone on here will help us.

If the alarm siren in the frunk is disconnected from power it will beep a bit - perhaps check that its firmly plugged in?

Also, the car will beep if you open the door with the key in - guessing its beeping when the key is out?

The beeping I'm hearing is a much fainter beep, and of a higher frequency, than leaving the keys in/ door open - it's barely audible - I wasnt sure it was the car at first

I'll see if I can get an Audio clip. It's not bothering me (unless it means something bad) - just a bit of a curiosity.

It happens on mine too & I think it's a 'feature' of the car.  Someone raised the same question years ago and one of the people in the know did provide an explanation, though I can't remember exactly what the answer was, but it was something not to worry about.

It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I don't panic.

The alarm sounder emits a low volume beep if you attempt to arm the alarm with doors / bonnet / frunk open.

Thank you Mark, I'll ignore it now the next time I hear it then, as you say, most of the time, you don't hear it, just occasionally.  s:D :D s:D

Low volume ? I just did this yesterday coincidentally and it's one hell of a racket. One of the loudest beeps on the car. Especially since I silenced my buzzer

Ah, Thanks Steve. Car was open, keys were in my pocket, and I was leaning all over the back of the car - must've plipped the fob by accident through my Jeans pocket. Cheers  s:) :) s:)

Lol. No. That's a loud beeping followed by an extremely angry loud beep if left too long.
It's a quiet beep

Have you done the alarm move mod?

I never really noticed this beep until I did the alarm move.
