Hey guys,
I was wondering what wheels + tires combo you are running? I was thinking of getting 6ul wheels 15x9 rears and 15x8  fronts but im kinda struggling to find tires on tirerack for them. I want lightweight 15s or 16s that has the option of high performance & track tires. Around here i cannot run on semi slicks and my idea is to have lightweight allows for daily driving and changing tires for the track. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

A second set of Standard FL alloys on some AD08Rs? IIRC the Standard alloys are fairly light.

I'm sure someone will give you a good answer shortly.

I like standard wheel sizes.
Tyres the biggest I have fitted on FL wheels are 205 front and 225 rear and tbh the front lacked feel even if it did grip really well.
That was on my turbo.
My current car is just on stock PFL wheels with standard size tyres and feels good even with the extra weight and power of the V6.

I dont know if im going to have traction with the future turbo setup that im planning and my idea for now was to buy new allows coz i broke all 4 of mine(yes, all 4 of them) when i crashed and to get some performance tires. The wheels i liked and wont break the bank are 6ul 180$$ each but i cant seem to find 15" tires that will fit them. These wheels are coming in 15 and 17 only :( Personally id fit 225 on 8j wheel and not lower, maybe for slicks is different idk.

I want to resurrect this coz i found out that i can get Advanti Storms s1 in 15x7 Et 35 fronts and 15x8 Et 25 rears. Im turboing my car and will need more tire to have traction and i was thinking of getting the above wheels with 205/50 fronts and 225/45 rears. Do you think im going to have any issues with rubbing and if i can find decent tires for the summer and track days?

I have couple of nice choices for summer and track when i had a look on tirerack. Is the combo good enough?

I am currently working out what wheels and tyres I should go with as well, looks like its common to get a 255/40/17 so will be looking to run a 17x9 on the rear - just working on the most common size for a narrower front - you will need to adjust the speedo via the ECU to run that size btw.

On those sizes and ETs I would think you would get some rubbing on the front wheel arch and major rubbing on the rear. I think you would need to fit a wide wheel arch kit for that size on the rear.

Not sure on the width I want to go with on the front but for the rear:

Stock 16x7, 215/45/16 with an ET45 offset vs 17x9, 255/40/17 with an ET25 offset (example is some Rota Grid wheels) - the new wheels are:

5.4mm closer to the strut tower
45.4mm poke vs stock

Im almost sure that i will get away with this width but i do not have the experience so im asking if anybody here has some experience.

@m1tch Can you give me some calculator that i can use?
@m1tch If you can run semi slicks whole summer around get 16s for the rear and PROXES R888R in 245/45 rears and fronts 225/50.
@m1tch Are you going to build rollcage?

What sort of power output are you looking at?
I quite happily ran 235bhp turbo on 195 215 tyres.
My current 260bhp Supercharged V6 is on 185 205 and is a handful in the wet but fine in the dry.
If you get a decent sticky tyre like AD08R 595RSR R888 etc you should be fine.
IMHO large wheel and tyre combo's ruin the handling and feel of the car.
Not everyone agrees but I wasn't happy when I went 205 up front.

The wheels are going to be lighter than the OEM ones and id like to run at least 225 at the rear with some wider wheels coz i dont like how these tires looks on anything under 8j. The handling matters if u have heavier combo but if u have the same weight but wider i think is going to be fine. Im no tires expert tho :D

Here is the calculator: https://www.willtheyfit.com/

Will be looking to run Yokohama AD08R all round - 255/40/17 are around £161 each, still deciding on the front sizes though, the simular wider sizes on the rear are for 235/40/17 but figure I might as well go wide on the rear but will be running a staggered setup - shame that there aren't many options in 15s that are easily available. Will be running the built engine next year NA and will be using stock wheels but better tyres, will look to upgrade to a wider setup in 2020 I think.

Will be looking to run a roll cage - more likely a roll hoop, will be a few years down the line - engine power is going from 140 to 400

195 front 225 rear will work fine.
You can try 205 front it gripped well just didn't like the way it felt.

Also just reading up a bit more on tyres, it would seem that the wider tyre doesn't always mean more grip - same contact patch but just a different shape.

Might change my idea and could just run OEM wheels with better tyres - can drop the pressure slightly to increase the contact patch if needed.
