STOLEN:REPLACEMENT FOR STOCK HU WITH Aerial

My 2002 stock sony (tape+cd) has been stolen...Insurance will pay max
£300 inc fitting.

I am looking at just getting a single din unit, most likely a black sony, but need to know which units will control the aerial properly. When the cd is on, i dont want the ariel up, when the radio turns on it should then pop out.

I dont really want a button/switch to control aerial.

Sso a list of units with proper aerial function anyone? Or simply the best sony to do the job?

I had a first generation Sony Black Face, and as long as RDS & TA was turned off on the radio, the aerial was retracted when listening to CD's.

I suspect that all Sony's behave in the same way but I couldnt guarantee it.

My aftermarket Sony behaves like Steve's stock unit.

My Sony (CDX-M600R I think) definately keeps the aerial down while listening to CDs.

Although I do have TA off. RDS stays on though.

Bongo, what is the model number of your sony h/u?

my sony cdx-f7700 behaves correctly with the aerial but again only if ta is off

Same with my Sony CDX-CA900.
