Hi everyone,

Just a couple of quickies that i wonder if you could help me out with:

1. Has anyone ever heard of the tyres Regal's?
2. I want to change the rear two tyres what are the best to go for if i have Pirelli P6000 on the front 2.

Cheers

Never heard of Regals, but if you put anything other than P6000's on the back as well then you're going to have problems.

Mixing tyres is NOT recommended on the Roadster.

Where did you get Liz from?  s:? :? s:?   s:wink:  s:wink:

If you had different tyres front and back, it could well have contributed to your accident.

For what it's worth, I hated my P6000s on the '2.  Slippery and wobbly.

Sorry Ekona simular pic.

Yeah i think so, the regals are on the back and lost the back end so i thinking regals are cheap tyres and i should get rid of them pretty sharpish before bad weather comes.

Cheers

Regals make pretty cheap cigarettes, so I doubt their tyres are any better.  s:wink:  s:wink:

I did and paid the price by my other half ending up in a ditch.

Got 4 Toyo Proxies t1-R's and got them on car on saturday.

not too sure about them yet but they will still be 'green' yet and need run in for 50 miles or so.

They get rave reviews but they feel strange to me. Mabe it's because the tyres I had before were notorious tramliners whereas now every little movement on the wheel is directed to the wheels. It seems a wee bit floaty at the moment to me even though my front tyre pressures are 28 and rear 32. hopefully this will bed in soon thought.

Isn't front supposed to be 26psi?

T1-Ss used to take more like 150-200 miles to scrub in, though the Rs could be quicker, it's likely to be more than 50 miles..

Yes, but most of us (myself included) run higher pressures in the Toyos as the sidewalls are a lot softer than the stock Bridgestone & Yoko tyres, so the increased pressure helps get the 'feel' back (though too much will give you understeer)

Have to agree with Ernie here, P6000 is also a cheap sucky tyre  s:? :? s:?
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

I've got a set of wheels in being refurbed at the moment.  All have Toyo T1-s on them.  The backs are good but the fronts are shot.  How well do T1-R and T1-S match front and back?

Assuming I'm right in thinking that you can't get T1-S anymore!

Cheers

Tem, i have checked out prices, P6000 seem to be more expensive than the T1-S's, but as i shouldnt mix the tyres i have either got to get the same on the back or a full new set, altough the front 2 are nearly new.

I chucked 4 nearly new P6000s left on by the previous owner.  He had the same size all around.  It cost money but it was worth it.

Ah, I didn't mean the price, but the properties.

Then again, it was quite easy to drift all over the place with P6000's and they didn't seem to wear at all  s:lol:  s:lol:  Depends what you want from a tyre I suppose.

I used to have P6000's on one of my previous cars and they were horrible especially in the wet!
I have my Tyres set to 28psi F / 32psi R happy with the balance

There's a good chance they may still be available at dealers / stockists, but Toyo have stopped them AFAIIA in favour of the T1-R.

Ah, i get ya now.

Well i spose it better if i get a full new set really.

Which are better T1-R's or T1-S's, Thats if Toyo's are they way to go. That is what most people run on isnt it?

Good tyre, good value. As I said above, you might still find some S's, but I guess you should go for R's.

By the way, tyre sizes confuse the hell out of me. The R's on the face lift 2 have to be a different size than the S's, because Toyo changed their range. A search (or somebody else) will be able to say what. Sorry.

<edit>Just "searched", Markiii is the guru...he say for face lift because R's dont come in 225/40:

S's 195/50/15, 225/40/16, R's 185/55/15, 215/45/16 </edit>

Thanx Roger,

I have already contacted local dealer, who would fit T1-S's two on the rear for £145, but that a big no with you guys so i will have to get a quote for the full set on the S's

Does anyone know the tyre size required for the R's?

Check the edit above. I'm not too sure if anybody has actually mixed R's and S's.

There was certainly a thought that it might not be too bad, considering they are an upgrade from the same manufacturer.
