hi guys
new to this forum but it is very useful already. i returned to my car on thursday morning after it sitting there for 48 in really heavy rain (i work in wales!!!) and the drivers foot well was under about 1 1/2 inches of water!! i cleared it out and cursed myself for not closing a door or window quite properly as this had not happened before.

i then returned last night after work (again car sat there for 36 hours) only to find the area behind the drivers seat was under an inch of water. heavy rain again.

i have now cleaned out the roof drains as per advice on this forum, but i never noticed any water in the luggage compartments.

any advice or tips?
cheers

I think you should check all the clip connectors inside the softtop, near the drains. One of mine had snapped open and it caused water to drip on the storage bin front edge, instead of the drains. I'm sure it might be able to drip outside the bins as well.

And you can always use a garden hose or alike to get water on the car and see what happens indoors.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

My problem was the rubber seal on the leading edge of the door - it had split and broken and was letting water into the footwell area - it's easy enough to see if it is at fault so take a look when you are next in the car.

Slacey, I've also been told that my passenger side seal needs replacing. I too have a small lake in the passenger footwell, but this has only happended since I've put the hardtop on.

Mr T wants around £300 to replace one seal. I told him that I'd rather sell the hardtop and keep the soft top up.

I was wondering if it could be that the centre clip on the hard top requires adjusting, would this have any effect on the quality of the seal around the door?

Also, if I do need to replace a seal (possibly two) are there cheaper ways of doing it. I was thinking of getting a 2nd hand seal from a breakers yard of a relatively new 2.

Anyone had any experience?

Cheers
