Brake squeek

garage said they also found a squeeking coming from my break but this was just due to the brake pads being brittle and when brake away get stuck and rub but nothing that they can do about that.  anyone else had this and do you just live with it?  done a search but didnt see anything, may not have searched using right stuff

You get this with any car, surely you 've had it before. I've had it with every car I've owned, including those with drum brakes.

A couple of emergency stops usually clears it - so long as you've nothing caught between your pad and disc.   s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

every time i drive an annoying sqeek and ratle on both back wheels, since i changed them, really doing my head in, is there anything i can do about this?

Indeed....think laterally when you search - trying brake and noise returned a whole page of results to read through...

squeak is usually because there is no lubrication on the back of the pads.   remove the pads and apply (copperease) to the back of the pads where the caliper pushes them  this cures a lot of noise
