Sorry no can do! At a wedding that day!

But thanks for the offer  s:D :D s:D

Why are you taking it there, long way?

Everyone specialist has quoted 2.5K or there abouts to fix it. While this really reputable specialist who is used by lotus themselves has quoted £700. So cheaper to drive all the way down there than get it fixed in Guildford.

Back from my travels, I've change the oil for Fuchs Titan race pro s 5w40 fully synth and I also changed the gearbox oil for mt90.

The engine is much quieter with the Fuchs in it, I've always rated that stuff, even more so now.

The gearbox noise is still there although much quieter. Unfortunately there was a metallic sheen to the oil when I dropped it out, so something isn't right. I'll have to get it removed and looked at by someone. I still think it's the diff, because I can get it to make the noise in any gear, so that tells me it's something down stream of the gear...I don't know much about gearboxes though.

700 odd miles covered now....

I've taken it into lift a few times and thankfully it plays ball!

It gets pretty lively and the sound is quite addictive  s:) :) s:)  just want tot get to 1000 miles before I give it too much stick!

I hope the gearbox sticks together for you mate! Maybe get another lined up to go in as soon as possible if this one starts to lunch itself? I'm thinking of doing that with my 2zz engine as I'm not feeling too confident it'll stay together for me...   s:? :? s:?

Tell me about it, but yes I will look out for another celica box, and also an mr2 box for the diff.

I need to get it started before I start sprinting in March next year  s:) :) s:)

Lets hope the gearbox isn't serious! You cant have anymore trouble!

How much are you estimating the sprinting is going to cost compared to track days? I looking at doing sprinting in 2017, not Toyota sprint though  s:( :( s:(
While your bedding it in and need to put some miles on, should grab some food and have a chat, would be good to have a chat about sprinting, and maybe some other people that already do it.

That sounds good. We should set something up. What series are you looking at?

I haven't considered the costs, but actually it's probably no more expensive.

Looking at the Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship. But probably not next year, the year after. Think I need a few more driver training sessions before I start
That's what I'm hoping, look at the prices, it appears to be a similar cost. Apart from the few small upfront fees.
