I thought about stickers for mine but then as already said people expect a speed machine but I love seeing your car spank it passed machinery that wouldn't expect a little mr2 to be as quick and nimble
Sheath is the way

My permanent roof mounts arrived today from Rouge

I'll fit them when the roll hoop is fitted.

Which means I have a full hardtop fitting kit for sale (including cable) if anyone is interested.

I will also be removing my harness bar, so again, that is up for grabs. I did message tommy but had no reply.

Goodwood this Saturday, only doing the PM sessions because of the cost (£365 for the day I think!!) just fancied trying the place out, given the heratige.

I also ordered a full tailored car cover for use in the garage over the winter. It's from cover kings, as recommended on spyder chat.

Carried out an oil change today, oil courtesy of OPIE oils (Fuchs Titan Race Pro) , original Toyota filter from CTP and a new quick release drain plug;

Handy little device  s;) ;) s;)

GoPro charged and ready for Goodwood

Got one of them - absolutely brilliant for changing out nice hot fluid oil. Just make sure you also buy the metal safety clip to stop it being knocked open (ask me how I know!)

Oh really? Pretty good aren't they.

I got a safety clip. Does it just slip over the top, couldn't work out if it was supposed to be more securely fitted.

Go on.....I won't laugh

Goodwood 20th August.

Goodwood yesterday was excellent! It's a lovely venue, and very well run by the team there. Seriously quick track too, so not so suitable for the MR2.

That said I was keeping up with some fast road cars so must be doing something right!

I also got a session of instruction for my girlfriend which was probably worth the time...because she refuses to listen to me! LOL!

The MR2 was faultless once again and got some interest from a 370z owner who knew Goodwood like the back of his hand; passed him on my first session  s:D :D s:D

Also a couple of 911 owners commented on the little MR2.

My only issue was almost binning it on my final run, right in front of the marshals who had a word afterwards. No problems with that, they want everyone to go home in one piece.

I will do some videos later, couple of pics from the pit wall while my Other half was getting some instruction ;

The Yokohama AD08 tyres are suffering very light wear, very impressed. But they are getting pretty hot and sticky on track;

First video.

This is my first lap of Goodwood, I let the 370z past and followed him to do some line learning. Then I passed him and built up some speed.

These video really do look excellent.
With a few more horses you'll be slaughtering the competition.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

3rd and last for now.

Couple of moments in this video, one big slide coming on to the back straight and then some MR2 rallycross right at the end. Despite what you may think, I was fully in control - when I realised I was on the curb and the grass, I took the decision to go around the "pit in" sign, rather than through it!

Think i would need some practice.
No track experience at all.

It's no problem. I don't think I've been to a track day yet where there hasn't been a newbie. Give it a go, it's good fun and you don't have to drive flat out. Some track days include free tuition too which I would recommend

You could even try and get a couple more of us interested in going too... Makes the day much better if you have people with the same (ish) car to swap tips with

Just got back from 4 days having watched the Revival meeting.  Goodwood is a great track but not best suited to the MR2 - the V8 Mustangs, Cobra's and Astons and Jags loved the long straights.  Great video footage and good to see the track from the on car perspective.  I was at Lavant Corner grandstand and also the Chicane.  Great viewing all around.  Will be going to the Revival meeting again next year - something not to be missed by petrol heads.  Fantastic atmosphere and great racing.  Keep posting the on car shots.    s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

Some of my friends went to the revival this year they took a camper van and did all 3 days. They had a brilliant time and has convinced me I need to go!

As you say it's not perfectly suited to the mr2 but it was nice to stretch the cars legs. The corner speed you can carry in these cars is amazing so that helped a bit, but on the straights, cars like that Porsche just got too far away

Nicely driven (again!).

Looks like Goodwood is probably too quick for the car though tbh. A 2ZZ might be a different story  s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

The balance seems nicely neutral to oversteery at speed, very similar to mine.

Cheers Alex,

Yes it's too fast for a 1zz and long gears. 2zz shorter geared would be different and better suited, no doubt.

Yeah it is nice, all understeer has gone. Looking forward to trying r888s next  s:) :) s:)

Must say I'm rather inspired by this. Toying with the idea of making the car less comfy and more tracky  s:) :) s:)  Fixing up the suspension a hit and some good seats and I'd be getting close
...neutiquam erro.

I've taken my car on some long journeys and it's actually not all that uncomfortable.

The suspension Is a nice compromise for road use, the Seats are super comfy although the harnesses are a little impractical for tight junctions and manoeuvres

Add a bit of lightness, good brakes and tyres and you'll be running rings around some "faster" cars  s:) :) s:)

Tein springs won't be far off I reckon. Next "big" thing for the car. Even though a new set of brakes costs more...
