Hi
Sorry we missed you at Cadwell but the weather as it was could not be worse for the testing of the changes we had
made to the car and running in new brake pads so backed out of the day.
Another reason why is that we do not run a heater to save weight which is ok for short races but not for rain all day
even with anti mist applied to the windows.
You looked like you enjoyed it even though you had a few streams across the track

It was a lot worse early on, I don't blame you. If I was local and hadn't traveled all that way then I would have given it a miss too.

I'll book into the b&b next year and have another go  s;) ;) s;)

Crikey that was really wet.
Well done i think i would have bottled it and gone home.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Great video from Cadwell - its a narrow track with little run off so very nice tidy driving there in the wet.

I'm plotting a trip to Brands at the end of November on a Saturday - Bookatrack have a day there on the 29th .. tempted?

That is tempting, but the day after my work Christmas party.....considering I'm normally not fit for crawling out of bed, I don't think track driving is a good idea  s:D :D s:D

Fitted my remaining hard to brackets this morning. Had to drill out one of the front bracket screws, damn loctite!

Notice I painted them satin black before fitting. Might try to trim down the rear hard top plastics as it looks a bit odd without them

Your smooth wheel work really comes into it's own in bad weather!
You really should some sprints or hill climbs. If you need some pit crew.......  s;-) ;-) s;-)

It would be good to get on track with a few MR2s next year, it would be good to do another toyota day somewhere like Blyton, really enjoyed that day

Well the last 6 months have been great fun with the MR2, I've learnt a lot about how it drives, how I tend to drive and how to get the best out of it.

I've also learnt its weaknesses; the two main being power and corner stability, mainly body roll.

But all good things come to an end and with the tax expiring at the end of the month, I've SORN the MR2, given it a  good clean inside and out and tucked it in the garage with its nice new breathable cover from CoverKings.

It might make a few appearances over the winter (via trailer, obviously) but I will see how I feel.

Plans to address the two issues above are;

Power; 2zz conversion - I'm still not sure if I'll get this done over the winter or not yet, it depends on a few things, money included (I'm really trying not to just throw money at this car!) but it's certainly on the list in the next 12 months

Body roll; I'm collecting parts already for a suspension refresh;

TTE front and rear anti roll bars - got (thanks to SteveMk3)
New ARB drop links front and rear - got
Arb bushes front and rear - from Camskill, need to order.
BC Type RH coilovers (with camber adjusters) - hopefully via the group buy.

Also going to change to slotted brake rotors (ebc most likely) and get some new pads, might try the carbotech this time. The Hawk pads are brilliant, but I might just try something else for the sake of it. New fluid too, of course and paint the calipers as they look a bit tatty.

Other than that, power steering fluid change (it looks very black!) and a new UJ if I can find one.

Then tax and test in March / April time and go from there!

It gets really light over the mountain! Was quite surprised given the low speeds.

Well my Winter refresh parts bill just got bigger, I've now ordered a roll cage for the car, and I have a trusty welding friend lined up to weld it in for me  s:) :) s:)

Just got to wait about 6 weeks for delivery!

I've now got all the parts in the garage for the ARB upgrade; bars, drop links, bushes, but I will wait until I have the coilovers to do it all in one hit
