I bled my system myself when I changed the radiator so you might be better off giving it a good bleed yourself before going to the effort and expense of taking it back, would be worth ruling it out at least.
The car was working how it should as mark says its just one of these things ,  may be I should drove it around for a week and then gave it back and it mite showed up who knows .I am sorting it out for him  as for bleeding all the cars are vacuum bleed there is zero air in them ,  its just a part failed we took every step that you can take that was possible if it was new what more can you do . You will be surprised how many new bits fail quickly . The quality is not there anymore and I be in the trade for 30 yrs .  Seen it go down hill on parts . That all I got say the rest is between me and mark .
could not agree more we had a faulty new range rover thermostat last week it almost refused to open to let water through had to sit car for ages and jam the viscous fan before it would eventually open,also had an ebay clutch fitted for a punter lasted 2 weeks before the rivets on the clutch plate gave way,some parts these days are cheap but not so cheerful,and if the punter is supplying the bits you can only work with what you are given,i am sure patrick will sort it out

Looks good

What do the harnesses fasten to at the rear, the angle looks pretty step from the picture. Check the MSA blue book for the maximum angle.

I'm hoping to book an evening at Brandshatch - maybe 7th July, because I'm tied up for the next few weeks.

Glad to see the passenger seat is now fitted. I know both Sian and i were upset that there wasn't one.
When your all sorted you'll be taking me for a ride.  s;) ;) s;)
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

lovely Mark! You really make me want a 2nd MR2 to do this to...however I need a bit more convincing before I remortgage the house and sell the kids to do so. I'm not far off though.

I know what you mean. I don't know what's more stressful though, kids or cars  s:) :) s:)

Kids mate. Kids are more stressful than stress.
It's not stress anymore.. It;s called "I've got the kids". that trumps "I'm stressed" any day of the week

fecking kids...

My wife will take the kids off you.
She's got babies on the brain.

I received my coil cover today. Very nice it is too. Thanks Paul and Jiff for the info, I'll work out how to fit it tonight.

Nice surprise though...had forgotten about it!  s:) :) s:)

Looking good mate.... That coil cover looks the nuts, will tidy it up nice.

It amazes me why they put that 1zz in the mr2 , a little more power and it's so much more fun.

I know you can throw them around twisties but not all roads are twisty...  s:D :D s:D

Bit more power and you have your cake and can eat it!!

Thanks  s:) :) s:)

Fitted this evening, it's more function over form. I prefer it because all the other covers are designed for cars where the engine is the other way around; so the text is backwards when fitted in the Mr2!

This looks good though (in my humble opinion)

That's a tidy looking swap. Shame about the teething problems but it looks like you're in good hands. It could be a lot worse, believe me  s:evil: :evil: s:evil:

What exhaust did you go for in the end?

Yeah it's nice and tidy!

I've got a  sbastard bastard sbastard ised system at the moment;
Zero manifold mated to;
My Long life system which has been cut and modified to fit a 200cell cat and changed the flexi joints to raise the down pipe up as it was very low under the car.

I would like to replace it in the future but at the moment it will do.

It's a great build. It'll be amazing on a track.

Look forward to seeing some videos of it.

Such a great build-up so far and inspiration for my next mk3 build! I hope you get the mechanical niggles sorted promptly.

Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable read.
