However... The Base coat is also an interesting colour. I don't think I have ever seen a roadster completed in that before. Perhaps if you get bored of the red you could try that next.

I also like the gold reminds me of the Top Secret demo 2

Ok update..


Wet Sanded the car with 2500 grit to take out any dust and really flatten the lacquer


Sanded the wheels.


Polished up a wing to check the finish



Painted the wheels Subaru Impreza gold (same as the base coat)


Sanded then lacquered the headlights. Not perfect but loads better



Rear lights, sanded, painted black, sanded again to nearly remove the black, then lacquered.. End result, smoked rear lights. Photo looks a bit patchy but that's the reflections, the black is a nice and even tint.


And ate a big tasty with Diet Coke on the way home   s:D s:D

I am surprised you haven't gone FL headlamps with that candy red tbh.

Especially when you have smoke the chrome on the inside too. I reckon that would look pretty tasty.

Nearly finished, needs a good clean. And fit the diffuser ,spray up a few little bits.

Oh maybe I forget to mention, I had new wheel spacers made I've gone out an extra 15mm on the front and 20mm on the rear.
Now they are 45mm front ,50mm rear.

It made a massive difference to the look

I was thinking about a matching mohair today whilst I'm asking those photos, but I don't really know anything about them. Where to get them from, how much?

I have no idea how but I got no drips, no runs, no orange peel, apart from bits of dust which I sanded flat and now look like black specs. It turned out a really good job. With the chameleon I had to say oh ignore that bit, oh it looks good when you stand back, but this one I don't have to make any excuses for anything.

Jack smiths I think it's called in Swansea, few lads on here have used them. £350 is or thereabouts fitted. Maybe more for a custom colour you'd need to ask, would finish it a treat.

£290 usually for standard colours.

Although I have no idea what colour would match. The red would clash I would imagine?

Thanks, really pleased how it's turned out.

Engine work next
Move the battery
Repipe the charge cooler and add header tank
Fit fuel regulator
Try and "tune" it better
