Please could anyone tell me roughly how much a rear sub-frame and front sub-frame cost to replace please?

Rear subframe is £297 from toyota southampton. That's just the part though Jane.  If you need bolts things start getting very expensive the ones with the cam plates on are £25 each! Then you need a wheel alignment £40. You will want to protect it outside hamerite £10 inside dinnotrol or dynax £15. I also needed a set of bushes £40 etc etc. I think I spent £450 in the end and I did it myself!
New little car to follow soon

Ex 2zz by Rogue. Se7en cams. BMC CDA. Competion clutches lightened flywheel, Megillian Racing Exhaust. TRD sportivo suspension and ARB\'s. TRD braces. TRD quick shift. TRD dash kit, Matts brace. Getting there but not sure when it will stop!

Thanks Mike, hmmmm not cheap!  This friend of mine has found one, Chilli red (my favourite) 06 with 40k on the clock but it has two advisories of corroded front and rear sub frames (not heard of front ones) but not seriously weakened.  I'm surprised with that sort of mileage but then it's an 11 yr old car I suppose?  Its got a full years MOT but one can't help thinking there's an expensive bill at the end of it?   s:( :( s:(

Which is why I've reduced the price accordingly!  s;) ;) s;)

And you have a full year to save up for it!

Are there any aftermarket options for the rear subframe at all?

It's an advisory on the MOT.  In my experience, that doesn't always tell you a great deal as different testers have different thresholds.

It's entirely possible that it's just a bit of surface rust, it must be structurally sound (in theory) as it would / should have failed its MOT otherwise!  If that's the case then a clean up and paint with a can of Dynax or Dinitrol in the inside may mean it's good for many a year to come.

Of course, it's also possible that it's knackered!

I'd agree with smarty. Arguably, depending on where the rust is, you might be able to patch weld it too.
However, mine held the car together. I'm not saying I was comfortable with it like this, though.
You could argue that it's structurally sound, because the hole isn't anywhere near the weld.

btw, if anyone wants it, they're welcome to it!

Tempting to take you up on the offer, I am collecting my MR2 tomorrow and although the rear subframe should be ok it might be worth getting a spare to weld up and have in reserve just in case!
