Everything about this car just screams "professional". Mark you are doing such a fantastic job, car is looking awesome especially with those brakes on now. When you next do a track day down south (brands/snetterton etc) would love to pop along and see it in action so keep your track days updated on here  s:) :) s:)

It's very kind of you to say that but I can assure you I, nor the car are professional!

I'm just an average car enthusiast like you and many others on here, and I fumble my way through learning as I go!  s:D :D s:D

I'm really keen to do some track days with other members this year so I'll be sure to keep you posted

Quote from: "Meeerrrk"I've had the Rota's a while they are 16s and I run 205/45/16 front and 225/40/16 rear. AD08r tyres.

I need new rear tyre and in two minds... Pair of AD08r again or all 4 R888 but the issue with R888 on 16s is I'd have to drop down some width sizes.

oh right nice, i do like them wheels, that's something i would like to do is some proper rubber T1rs are good but semi slicks would be nice, just need a sump first, what widths are the wheels and by the looks of it they are stock off set?

cheers tommy

I must admit i'm not sure on the widths  s:( :( s:(  bad I know... I'll check next time I have the wheels off.

Yeah they appear to be standard offset, I've been thinking about getting some spaces as the stance of yours looks great  s:) :) s:)

Dropped all the 2zz swap parts off to Patrick yesterday (good to put a few faces to names too!)

Hoping for May kind of time to get the car down there for the swap  s:D :D s:D

Also hoping to find a small race cat to fit into my exhaust, so I can get it MOT'd and get the car on the road.

Looking forward to it all now.

Also just got a fully detachable and therefore hidden tow bar for my E91 ... Feel bad for sticking it on there but at least it will be hidden when not in use. Means tracks further afield will be more acceptable now  s:) :) s:)

Haha!

Well, Wales is certainly on the list...later in the year. For the circuits though, not the sheep.

Anyone ever tried race render or similar video? Any tips?

I got the track addict app, connected my wifi OBD and it gets data from the car, so I'm halfway there.

Be good to overlay some of the track videos with some real time car data; throttle, gear, speed and circuit position (via phone GPS).

Bit of a milestone today!

The car finally starts and stops under its own power! It's been a while!

Finished off the battery wiring after relocating the battery and making the centre panel and kill switch.

Car started first turn!! Was a bit worried that the extra cable may cause issues.

Also finished off the brakes; fitted my replacement caliper carrier and fitted the new disks and pads. Then slapped a load of Matt black caliper paint on to tidy it up, the gold refurb calipers looked odd! Black Matches the fronts  s:D :D s:D  (sad I know!)

These are MTEK slotted and dimpled with black anti rust costing, and yellowstuff pads.

Slowly is better!! , I am so impatient. Mine has come to a stop for now as I can't spend any more money on it and more importantly need to properly finish everything I have already done ..
at least slowly you properly finish everything.
And your doing everything in the right order!.
Will be an awesome track car with the 2zz... I didn't think that engine was suitable for my driving on the street. But the track I think is perfect.
Look forward to seeing it done

Ha! Wish I could! Until my roll hoop is welded in, I don't have anywhere to secure my belts which means no MOT  s:( :( s:(

I think there must be a happy medium between us
Some where !  s:D :D s:D

I agree with the engine. If my mr2 was more for the road id have a 1zz turbo, but the way I tend to drive on the track, a 2zz will suit me and my needs nicely
