Well it's been a while!...

So after a few months of saving and enjoying an awesome holiday in the states, focus can turn on the car again  s:) :) s:)

Had the car out the garage today, getting it ready for the journey to see Dr Headcase to fit the engine, get the cage welded in and get the thing road legal!

Got all the interior trim all back in with wires for the water and oil temp and oil pressure sensors ran to the rear of the car.

Hardtop back on, front number plate and even a quick Hoover out!

Finally got round to fitting the towbar and electrics onto my 3-series so I can tow the car to Patrick.

Nearly there.....

October was the last time I drove the Mr2 (around a very wet cadwel park)

Since then I've done the following;
BC coilovers
TTE front and rear roll bars, poly bushing
Roll bar Drop links
Rear brake refurb, yellow stuff pads and grooved and dimpled disks
Front Wilwood brakes with grooved and dimpled discs
More stripping out of interior.
Battery relocation

Today, in preparation for tomorrow, I got it out the garage, took it to a private bit of road and went for one last 1zz drive (only short).

Tomorrow it goes to Patrick for the 2zz work to start.

And I've got to say, it felt great! I forget how fun these cars are.

BC coilovers weren't too hard either....and the brakes.... Wow, brilliant, and not even got through the new disc coating!

Patrick is also welding my Roll over hoop feet in so it hoop can finally be fitted, and I hope fit a cat for an MOT friendly car. If the cat isn't possible I will need to sort something else myself.

Been getting a bit worked up about the costs this week but driving the car has given me a new lease of excitement  s:D :D s:D

It'll be worth it!

You're in safe hands with Patrick, it should be even better when it returns  s:) :) s:)

Very frustrating and disappointing day.
Went to pick up the trailer at 9am, and spent the next two hours trying to work out why the lighting wouldn't work. In the end we borrowed a random persons car who happened to be parking up next to us and figured out its my car.  s:( :( s:(

After spending the next two hours conforming all the wiring etc is good I can only conclude the electronics module is knackered!

So I never got the car to Patrick, I missed the Warwickshire meet, and gave myself a headache with the stress!
FML!

Should have done what I did last time I went for a trailer, just tow it, with an MR2 on the back chances are they would have still seen the Beemers lights & when coming back empty they definitely would, not like it was dark or anything

That did go through my mind but I didn't want to risk it!

Feel your pain.  s:( :( s:(
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Finally, managed to get the car to Patrick!
The e91 towed the mr2 and (massive) trailer really well. Very smooth.

The wait begins  s:) :) s:)

Good news.
When will it be ready. Rough guesstimate?
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
